Understanding the Bow River
The Bow River flows 600+ kilometers from the Rockies to the prairies. Not all of it is fishable. Not even close. The trophy sections are between Calgary and Carseland. Thats where we spend our days.
Quick Geography
Banff → Canmore → Calgary → [BEST FISHING HERE] → Carseland → Bassano
Upper Bow: Above Calgary (Banff/Canmore area). Mountain scenery, smaller fish average.
Lower Bow: Below Calgary. Prairie landscape, bigger fish. This is our bread and butter.
We fish approximately 50 miles of prime water south of Calgary. Different sections have different character. Different fish. Different vibes. Heres what you need to know.

Every section holds fish like this. Pick the right one for your goals.

How We Choose Which Section to Float
We dont just pick randomly. Been doing this 10+ years. Theres daily intel that goes into section selection.
Water Flows
High water changes which sections fish well. We check CFS daily.
Time of Year
Browns move in fall, rainbows active in summer. Different sections shine.
Recent Pressure
We rotate to avoid crowded water. Know which sections got hit hard.
Weather
Wind affects some sections more. Rain changes fish behavior.
Your Skill Level
Some water is more technical. We match difficulty to experience.
Trip Length
Half-day limits how far we can go. Full-day opens more options.

Access Points & Logistics
We use a mix of public and private access points built over 10+ years of relationships. Put-in at one spot, take-out at another. Shuttle system handles the vehicles.
You dont need to worry about any of this. We handle transportation from your Calgary hotel. You just fish.
DIY anglers struggle with Bow River access. Limited public spots. Private ranch land. Complicated logistics. Working relationships with landowners? That takes years to build. Its part of what youre paying for with a guide.
