Fly Fishing Guides Near Calgary

Calgary sits on one of North Americas best trout rivers. The Bow flows right through the city, but the best fishing is on the sections just outside town—and thats where we spend our days.

Were not an outfitter with guides spread across multiple rivers. We fish the Bow. Every day. The guides who work with us have 10+ years on this water. We know where the fish are holding, whats hatching, and how conditions change through the season.

Why Choose Local Calgary Guides

Theres a difference between guides who visit the Bow occasionally and guides who live on it. We fish this river 150+ days a year. That means:

Daily Intel

We know whats working TODAY. Water conditions change, hatches shift, fish move. Guides who fish daily stay ahead of the curve.

Local Relationships

Access to private launches, local knowledge of structure, relationships with other guides who share intel. This stuff takes years to build.

Reading the River

Knowing exactly where big browns hold in October vs July. Where rainbows stack up during caddis hatches. Pattern recognition from thousands of hours on the water.

Real Expectations

We wont oversell the fishing. If conditions are tough, well tell you. And well still put you on fish because we know where to adapt.

Fly casting

The goal. Clean casts, good drifts, fish on.

About the Bow River

The Bow River is consistently ranked among the top 5 trout rivers in North America. It flows from Banff through Calgary and beyond, with the best fishing sections in the urban and lower corridors.

Why the Bow is Special:
  • • Wild trout fishery (no stocking)
  • • Average trout 16-20 inches
  • • Trophy browns over 24 inches every season
  • • World-class summer dry fly hatches
  • • Nutrient-rich water supporting massive insect populations

Were not exaggerating when we say a 19-inch rainbow is average here. The Bows productivity is legendary among fly anglers.
